Make your choice

In life, you do not get what you deserve; you get what you negotiate for. There are those who by the fact of their history, deserve failure and yet negotiate success for themselves. There are others, who by birth and history, deserve success and yet negotiate failure for themselves.

The world has witnessed many children of preachers who became wayward. And examples abound of many children of the wayward who became preachers. The children of the rich have become poor while the children of the poor have become rich in this world. Women with no natural children of their own are surrounded by the love and affection of a thousand children while women with several children of their own die in loneliness.

When you make wrong choices in life, you receive the consequences of your choices. It is a spiritual law, “Whatever a person sows, that he will reap.”

LET NOTHING STOP YOU!

There is more to you. Bring it forth. Disregard the ‘circumstance’. In fact, use the ‘circumstance’ to your advantage. Leaders are ordinary people who are placed under extraordinary circumstances that bring forth their latent potential, producing character that inspires the confidence and trust of others.

Moses, a ‘fugitive’ from Pharaoh’s justice, became the greatest lawgiver in history. Gideon, a ‘coward’ became one of the greatest warriors in his generation. David, an ‘insignificant shepherd boy’ who was considered the ‘least’ in his family, has his place in history as the greatest king the nation of Israel has ever produced……

Abraham Lincoln had little formal education, yet he went on to become a national leader considered by many as the greatest president of the United States. Helen Keller was a girl from a small town in Alabama, who due to illness, lost her sight and hearing before the age of two. Yet, she became an international lecturer and author whose books still enjoy international readership. In fact, one of her books, The Story of My Life, is available in over fifty languages!

Let no circumstance stop you. You are not the same with others but you are a leader in your own unique way.

JUST A FIRST STEP

You don’t have to be great to start; you have to start to be great.

Most of us want to accomplish much before we commence doing what guarantees us maximum satisfaction. Life is not so .The road to greatness starts by taking a first step. Just a first step. You have to take a step from where you are now. Don’t wait for tomorrow for it might be too late. Even if you don’t have the money to start, you have the idea; even if you don’t have the venue to start, you have a room. No matter how discouraging your present location is, it is still a location. So, why not start to implement that idea of yours now, even without the money, in that location you are?

Theodore Roosevelt’s advice really adds up here: ‘’Do what you can with what you have where you are.’’ Don’t forget that all achievers of today met with obstacles that would have hindered them, which they never surrendered to. You know what? Today we celebrate them for their courage.

Now, be courageous! Take that bold first step. Start to implement that dream. Forget about what you don’t have. Think about what you have. For if you think enough, what you have is surely enough.

Are you Successful?

Are You Successful?

You are not successful if everyone says you are. You are not successful if you have done what others expected you to do. You are not successful if you receive commendation and recognition from your peers or the accolades of the masses. You are truly successful only if you have done what you were purposed to do.

Be careful not to confuse right with good. Your only responsibility is to respond to God's purpose for your life. Your only measure of success is to find your purpose for your life and do it! Living with purpose is the difference between being busy and being effective. Refuse to allow activity without progress to dominate your existence. Purpose protects you from doing good at the expense of doing right.

SUPPOSE...

Suppose the Wright brothers had died before they invented the airplane-the world would have been denied the fastest mode of transportation! Suppose Shakespeare had died before he wrote his poems and plays-the potentials of the most creative writer …

Suppose the Wright brothers had died before they invented the airplane-the world would have been denied the fastest mode of transportation! Suppose Shakespeare had died before he wrote his poems and plays-the potentials of the most creative writer of all time would have been buried! Suppose Charles Wesley had died without penning the hymns and John Wycliffe without translating the Bible into English-how different the history of the church might have been!

What you are now is not all you are. It is only what you have become so far. Rather than sit out a problem, sweat out a solution to make an intergenerational difference. Do it. It’s in you!

BEATING THE AIR?

BEATING THE AIR?

Purpose is the destination that prompts the journey. Everything in life has a purpose. You were born with and for a purpose. Purpose gives meaning to life. Without purpose, life becomes an experiment, a haphazard journey which ultimately results in frustration and failure. When purpose is absent, time and energy spent on a venture become meaningless and life has no precision.

God never made anything for the fun of it, not even your creation! To live without purpose is akin to beating the air. It is essential that you discover your purpose in life. This is how to live a full and rewarding life.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The road to success is always under construction. People clamor for success. What baffles me is that they keep on pressing and pushing for success without effecting any change in their style. Success doesn’t come that way! The successful recognize change as their greatest ally. Change is life. No one grows without change. It begins with the mind. Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. How do you correct your errors if you never change your thinking? When you keep defending your shortcomings, you are simply (and sadly too) admitting that you are not ready yet to quit them. Remaining what you are denies you becoming what you are destined to be.

Do not be afraid of change for without change, progress is mirage. Be receptive to new ideas and new innovations. After all yesterday’s formula for success always becomes tomorrow’s recipe for failure. Your thinking yesterday brought you to where you are today, but will not necessarily take you to where you want to go. Break pattern! Break traditions! This is the secret of generational achievers.

DIG DEEP

Life is too short to think small!

Those who really want to know if

they can swim don't limit

themselves with shallow waters. The

treasures of life are not on the

surface. Launch into the deep! Such

valuable treasures as gold and diamond

are not found on the surface of the

earth. They are in the deep. You dig and dig to reach

them. Don't limit your ability. Putting a limit on what you

will do culminates in putting a limit on what you can do.

You can do more than you think, for you never know what

you cannot do until you try. So to make a successful

future, break loose, go outside the confines that you have

right now. Try doing what you have never done before and

you'll begin to achieve the results you've never achieved

before. To believe that a task is impossible to accomplish

is to make it so. The question is how many lofty ideas

have you miscarried because of thinking small? How many

ideas have you put to death because of mediocre

imagination? Dare always to think unthinkable thoughts.

Great achievers don't grow where they are planted, they

blossom where they are planted. Now spread your wings

to soar to the heights you never knew you could.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

A Creed to Live By

Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others,
It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important,
Only you know what is best for you.

Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart
Cling to that as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.

Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Don’t give up when you still have something to give
Nothing is really over … until the moment you stop trying.

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect,
It is the fragile thread that binds us to each other.

Don’t be afraid to encounter risks,
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don’t shut love out of your life by saying it’s impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love.

The fastest way to lose love is to hold on too tightly,
And the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don’t dismiss your Dreams. To be without dreams is to be without hope.
To be without hope is to be without purpose.

Don’t run through life so fast that you forget where you’ve been,
But also know where you’re going.

Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored every step of the way.
