A DIFFERENCE MAKER
It is with great joy that I welcome you all into the new month of May. To Him who has counted us worthy to see this new month in peace and blessings—may His reign be eternal, in Jesus' name. A most blissful new month to you!
Key Scripture: Matthew 5:14–16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Introduction:
Everyone wants their life to count for something. Deep down, we all desire to leave a mark—to make a difference. But what does it really mean to be a difference maker in God's Kingdom? It's not about fame, fortune, or followers; it's about impact—eternal impact. God has called each of us to be a light in the darkness, to influence lives, and to bring change wherever we go.
ATTRIBUTES OF A DIFFERENCE MAKER
1. Difference Makers Know Their Identity
Before you can make a difference, you need to know who you are in Christ. Making a difference begins with receiving Christ and believing in His name. Difference makers are children of God.
"But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." – John 1:12
"You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world." – Matthew 5:13–14
Knowing your identity gives you the confidence to step out and shine for God.
2. Difference Makers Serve with Purpose
Making a difference is not always about grand gestures. Often, it is the small acts of love and obedience that have the greatest impact.
- Jesus washed His disciples' feet (John 13)
- The Good Samaritan helped one person in need (Luke 10:25–37)
True difference makers do not offer kind gestures with hidden motives. They serve selflessly and intentionally. Their deeds are carried out not to please people, but to glorify God.
3. Difference Makers Walk by Faith
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Sometimes, the greatest difference is made when we step out in faith, even when we do not see immediate results.
- Noah built the ark without seeing rain.
- Abraham left his home without knowing where he was going.
Difference makers have faith that moves mountains. Their faith inspires others and opens doors for God to move.
4. Difference Makers Leave a Legacy
True difference makers impact generations—their lives and work leave a lasting legacy. They are committed to spreading the gospel of Christ, embodying His character, and significantly improving the lives of those around them.
-Timothy was influenced by his mother and grandmother (2 Timothy 1:5)
- Jesus' impact lives on through His followers
Live each day with eternity in mind, knowing that your life can echo far beyond your time on earth.
In conclusion, you don't have to be perfect to be a difference maker—you just have to be willing, faithful, and available. God is looking for people who will shine, serve and stand strong for Him.
In this month of May, may the Almighty God make a difference in your life and family, and empower you to make a significant difference in every area of your life and in the lives of other people around you in Jesus' name. Amen.
Wishing you a month filled with positive and lasting impact!
